This is what we are all after...fully capped combs of honey. This comb shows the small amount of attachment of the comb to the sides of my straight-sided tbh's. I don't find it a problem at all. This comb can be cut up and sold as sections of comb honey, can be cut into strips for use in jars as chunk honey. It seems a shame to break it up and press the honey out, but I do it. The honey tastes very good since it hasn't been heated or subjected to a lot of contact with air as in centrifuging with conventional extractors. The wax is from virgin comb and is beautiful...about like cappings.
I may try marketing some of the bars of comb honey like this directly
from the hive. Customers would come to my beeyard and I would at that time
pull a bar directly from the hive for them. They would take the bar, as
is, with them. I may be able to build up a group of customers who will appreciate
my GOURMET honey (big grin ). ![]()
