Masters program: An undergraduate degree in the biological sciences, chemistry or a related field.

Doctoral program: An undergraduate or Masters degree in the biological sciences, chemistry or a related field.

Transcripts of past academic performance

Scores on the Graduate Record Examination

Three letters of reference

Submit an application to the College of Arts and Sciences Graduate Department

A statement of academic interests and goals.

International applicants must demonstrate proficiency in English. This may be done by taking the TOEFL test.

$50.00 application fee (GSU policy).

 

Deadlines for Graduate Applications

May 1 for starting in the Summer Semester

July 1 for starting in the Fall Semester

International applications must be received 4 weeks before the deadline

Tips

-Sometimes, institutions have a long wait for sending transcripts, especially if it is around graduation time.  Plan ahead for this and get your transcripts sent early.

-Also, some institutions require that you pay a small fee for sending transcripts to other institutions, make sure you check this out.

-If you applied online, be sure to check the status of your application regularly to ensure that everything is going as it should.

-Don’t forget to have your GRE scores sent to GSU: 1-888-GRE SCORE for U.S., U.S. Territories, and Canada.  1-609-771-7290 for all other locations. 1-888-473-8333 (TTY).

-Georgia State University’s institution code for the GRE is: 5251

-0203 is the department code for Biology for the GRE.
