Assistant Director (Networks)
Mark Roberson

Mark Roberson is the Assistant Director of University Computing and Communications
Services (Networks) for Georgia State University. Mark came to Georgia
State in 1999 with the initial task of managing the upgrade of the campus
network (GSUNet2), and assisting in the acquisition of a campus-wide telephone
system.
As Assistant Director, Mark is responsible for the day-to-day operations
of the University’s data, voice, and video networks. Mark and his
team are responsible for the definition, procurement, provisioning, implementation
and management of the data, voice and IP-based video distribution systems
for the Georgia State University campus. He also assists in development
of Information Technology (IT) architectural, technical and hardware specifications
for all infrastructural upgrades.
Additionally, Mark serves as the Facilities Management
contact for all capital projects requiring telecommunications services.
In this role he has led the IS&T technical teams during the implementation
of the Aderhold Learning Center, the Recreation Center, and the University
Lofts.
Mark brings to Georgia State University 20 years of experience with data,
voice, and computer systems. He has served on several campus committees
and represents the University in several professional associations. He
is a member of BISCI, the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE),
Association for Telecommunications Professionals in Higher Education (ACUTA),
and serves on the CRAFT advisory committee of Atlanta Technical College.
