Project Proposal
This project will promote the work of Part 2 of Campus Conversations
at Georgia State University. In meetings with Faculty from
across the campus we will:
- Review characterizations of the definition of a Scholarship
of Teaching and Learning and produce on agreed upon GSU
definition.
- Identify the existing reward structure that supports
SOTL and what changes are recommended to provide a more
supportive incentive system (e.g., P & T requirements).
- Identify elements in the existing infrastructure to
support SOTL and what additional support is needed (e.g.,
library holding, resource persons doing research on SOTL,
research resources within the university).
- Establish a forum for conversations about the Scholarship
of Teaching and Learning (e.g., CTL-Talk).
- Exchange evidence of work on SOTL (provide website
with link to writings, resources and writing on SOTL by
GSU faculty).
- Explore strategies for disseminating emerging work
to university community and celebrating achievement (possible
conference on SOTL, website on SOTL, on-line journal for
GSU or USG faculty).
