Building Cyber-Learning Communities in WebCT
We were very fortunate to have Dr. Autumn Grubb, Distinguished
Professor & Coordinator of Professional Development at
Georgia College and State University host the BrownBag Luncheon presentation on
November 17, 1999.
The presentation that she gave
is called "Building Cyber-Learning Communities in
WebCT." The presentation is designed to help participants
realize why it is important to create and nurture "community"
in the on-line learning environment. The presentation will
also help participants conceptualize/concretize how they can
use WebCT to:
- motivate students to use course
tools to interact with one another and collaborate to complete
course requirements,
- encourage students to respond
to fellow students' work and add to content discussions,
- encourage student-to-student
mentoring/training, and
- use course tools to manage
student requests for help.
