Millennial Students at Georgia State

Clip 1: Meet the Millennials
- Georgia State freshmen talk about their initial impressions and describe how they are:
--Close to their parents;
--Cosmopolitan;
--Want an urban experience;
--Wired with technology:
--Ambitious and focused; and
--Excited about being at Georgia State University.
Clip 2: Relationships with Instructors
- After a couple weeks of courses, freshmen discuss:
--First impressions are important;
--Liking the instructor promotes liking the class;
--The instructor's role; and
--Instructor's professionalism and student preception.
Clip 3: Experiencing the classroom
- Students discuss ther classroom experiences, including:
--Large verses small classes;
--Class activities; and
-- Techology in the classroom.
Clip 4: Teaching from the students' perspective
- Freshment discuss:
--Their need for help;
--Different kinds of knowledge and knowing; and
--Smart teaching.
Clip 5: Being a student is stressful
- Students reflect on the differences between their expectations and the realities of being at a university:
--Getting used to the transition
--Getting used to college work;
--Getting used to GSU logistics: and
--Getting used to being independent.
