Georgia State experts on the Wall Street crisis

Ronald Blasi, professor of law and director of the Low-Income Taxpayer Clinic. Blasi specializes in federal taxation of financial institutions and is author of one of the leading treatises on the taxation of banks. He has served as an expert witness in federal tax cases, and is former chair of the American Bar Association Tax Section’s committee on banking and savings institutions.
Conrad Ciccotello, associate professor of risk management and insurance and director of Graduate Personal Financial Planning Programs. Ciccotello specializes in law and finance as well as the financial planning profession. He is serving as a fellow in the TIAA-CREF Institute and from 2001 to 2007 was editor of Financial Services Review.
Rajeev Dhawan, associate professor of management and director of the Economic Forecasting Center. Well known for his quarterly forecast of national and regional economic trends, Dhawan’s research also analyzes the affects of monetary policy on the growth and survival of small firms. His work has also examined technological factors affecting firm efficiency.
Peter Eisemann, professor of finance. Specializing in commercial lending, business valuation and capital markets, Eisemann’s principle interests are in the financial management of financial institutions. He has also worked on small-business finance and loan analysis.
James Owers, professor of finance. Owers specializes in corporate finance, corporate capital structures, asset selection and corporate restructuring. He serves on the editorial board of Global Finance Journal and the advisory board of the Northeast Business and Economics Association.
Jack Williams, professor of law. Specializing in bankruptcy, Williams’ research has focused on the admissibility of financial expert testimony in bankruptcy courts, the emerging duties of directors and officers of insolvent corporations, and financial fraud and corporate accounting issues. He is a former American Bankruptcy Institute Robert M. Zinman Scholar in Residence.
George Zanjani, associate professor of risk management and insurance, specializes in insurance and financial institutions, and can discuss how firms may be at risk because of their ties to securities backed by toxic debt.
Alfred Mettler, clinical associate professor of finance, specializes in international banking and risk management of financial institutions. He can discuss how the financial crisis is affecting large U.S. and multi-national institutions.
Carter Doyle, visiting assistant professor of economics, specializes in public economics, labor economics, banking and monetary police and economic forecasting. He can discuss the economics of the bailout, Chairman Bernanke and the Federal Reserve's response, and the possible economic implications going forward for economic growth, jobs, banks and financial markets.
