decision. Students are advised to apply at least one semester prior
to their intended graduation date. Forms can be mailed to the

Curriculum
Adjustment
Course 6999 in any department that
offers graduate work is designed only to assist the graduate student
with a particular curriculum problem. Credit of from one to a
maximum of four semester hours may be earned. To be eligible, a
student must have Full Graduate Status and must have the approvals
of the instructor, the chair of the department, and the appropriate
associate dean of the college. Application forms for Course 6999
may be obtained from either the academic department or the
Graduate Office and must be submitted for approval prior to the
close of registration for the semester in which the credit is to be
earned. Registration for Course 6999 will be permitted only when an
alternative course is not available.
Undergraduate taking Graduate Level Course:
An undergraduate student generally must have a cumulative grade
point average of 3.5 or higher and be within 18 semester hours of
graduation. A post baccalaureate student generally must have a
cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher in his or her
undergraduate work as well as any graduate work taken at this or any
other institution. Eligibility does not guarantee that a student
will be admitted into a course. Admission must be approved by the
course instructor, the department/school Director of Graduate
Studies and the department/school Chair/Director. Students are
reminded that a graduate course used to satisfy requirements for an
undergraduate degree cannot be applied to a graduate degree at any
later date. One or more days may be needed to obtain the
necessary materials from the Registrar’s Office in order to
determine eligibility, as well as the approval signatures from the
department/school/institute. Once eligibility is confirmed,
students pursue the following process:
1. The
student obtains appropriate signatures from the department/school in
which the course is being offered.
2. The
completed form is returned to the Office of Graduate Studies in the
College of Arts and Sciences (8th floor of the Haas-Howell Building
- (404) 651-2297) so that authorization to enroll in the course can
be provided.
