Graduation Requirements
Every candidate for a
degree from Georgia State University must apply for graduation
at least two semesters before the one targeted for Commencement.
This registration MUST TAKE PLACE through the
Graduation Services Office.
No graduation will be approved without prior registration.
Beginning fall semester, 2006 every
candidate for graduation MUST be registered during the semester of
completion of all graduation requirements, including
thesis/ dissertation defense, performance, or gallery show.
Departments may determine the extent and type of hours that must be
taken by the candidate during the concluding semester. Activation
regulations are explained in the general university-wide section of
the graduate catalog.
Spring
2007 Graduation Calendar :
If
you intend to graduate in Spring 2007, please refer to this calendar
for a list of relevant deadlines. Any questions should be addressed
to the Graduate Services Office. The Graduate Services Office will
review files for errors in formatting until
April 16 ,
2007.
Thesis/Dissertation Preparation Guidelines
(digital):
All theses (except
in studio art and other exclusively
graphic disciplines) and
dissertations required as part of a degree program and that can be
conventionally printed on 8 1/2" X 11" paper will be accepted ONLY
in digital .pdf format. All electronic files submitted for partial
fulfillment of degree requirements must conform to the university
and Library of Congress national standards before final approval is
granted by the Graduate Office. This brochure explains in detail and
gives specific examples of precisely how the format and typeface of
the document should appear.
Studio Art Thesis Preparation
Guidelines
Candidates for graduation in a studio art program have different
standards to meet. This set of guidelines addresses the particular
challenges of a bound thesis.
Funds
Deposit Form:
Funds for
microfilming or copyrighting, or binding must be deposited in
advance either through the university cashier (cash, check and
money orders) or the Graduate Office (credit and debit cards) using
this form.
All candidates for
graduation with manuscript requests must make individual
arrangements with the Graduate Office. The format in the
guidelines is strictly for electronic submission. Graduates must
pay for any personal or department archival copies of their
manuscripts, which are limited in number.
