The Georgia State University Foundation at a Glance

The Georgia State University Foundation, Inc. is a tax-exempt charity under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Chartered in 1958, the foundation is a Georgia non-profit corporation and is recognized by the University System Board of Regents as a cooperative organization supporting the university.

The foundation is governed by an independent volunteer board of trustees, which includes the president of the university. Through its board and committee structure, the foundation gives alumni and community leaders personal involvement in fund raising and asset management which they themselves are expected to support.

The Foundation is chartered to raise, receive, manage, and disburse private gifts for the advancement and benefit of Georgia State University. A gift to the foundation is tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.
