International Alumni

International Constituents

The Director of International Constituents focuses on rebuilding relationships with international alumni, many of whom have not heard from Georgia State University since graduation. To provide address, employment and e-mail updates or for more information please contact Jennifer Anderson, Alumni Clubs Coordinator.

International alumni can help to increase the value of their degree from Georgia State and to make the University better known internationally by:

  1. developing international exchange programs and internships
  2. recruiting outstanding students;
  3. raising money for the international student emergency loan fund and other University programs; and
  4. serving as country coordinators, as a contact point for prospective students or new graduates who may be returning to the home country, etc. See a current list of country coordinators

The International Student Emergency Loan Fund

The International Student Emergency Loan Fund was established 30 years ago in memory of Eva Whetstone who was the first International Student Advisor at Georgia State University. Ms. Whetstone saw firsthand the difficulties that international students faced whenever there was a family disaster or other crisis in their home country. Since the fund was established, the number of international students has grown from a few hundred to the nearly 1,500 students here today.

However, the money available for emergency loans to cover living expenses or other crisis situations has not grown proportionately. Please support the International Student Emergency Loan Fund to provide emergency loans to students in need.
