Activities on Campus


In an effort to heighten moral consciousness on campus and to assist those striving to act conscientiously, the Center for ethics supports students, faculty and staff by sponsoring a variety of programs including:

Lectures:
free events featuring experts on current topics, such as Diversity and Toleration, Freedom of Speech on Campus, Integrity in Politics, and Just War Theory.

Academic Conferences:
symposia featuring participants known for their work on ethical issues, such as Political Violence, Freedom and Responsibility, and Medical Paternalism.

Student Conferences, Activities, Grants, and Awards:
conferences organized for student presentations; ethics-in-film series; funding provided to students proposing community projects; awards given to winners of student essay contests.

Counseling:
guidance available to students, faculty, staff, and university organizations.

Student Speak-outs:
topical, open microphone fora held on the University Plaza.
