Important Application Deadlines:
Ph.D. applications are accepted for Fall semester only. M.A. applications are accepted for Spring and Fall semesters.
Spring 2009: October 15 (Assistantship Deadline: September 15)
Fall 2009: April 15 (Assistantship Deadline: February 15)
Information and materials required for application to graduate programs may be found at the website for the Graduate Office of the College of Arts and Sciences . If you would like a copy of these materials, please contact the Graduate office.
In addition to the requirements of the graduate office, note the following special needs of the Department:
1. The form for letters (2 letters for M.A.; 3 letters for Ph.D.) of recommendation are provided below. Please submit all application materials to the Graduate Office of the College. Also, please have your letters of recommendation sent directly to the Graduate Office.
2. Applicants should submit a 1-2 page typed essay presenting their educational and career goals in political science. Please submit it to the Graduate Office of the College.
3. Please observe the deadlines for submitting GRE scores. Do not expect to take the GREs and be admitted to the program before the scores arrive and are processed. Also, do not expect your application for a particular semester to be processed in time for admission if you do not meet the published deadlines for all other application materials.
4. See specific requirements under M.A. and Ph.D. degrees.
Be sure to send all application materials, including academic letters of recommendations, to the Graduate Office of the College of Arts and Sciences, not to the Department of Political Science. Sending materials directly to the Department will delay the processing of your application.
