Why PMO?
In today's world where projects need to be done yesterday with the few resources that we have, it is vital that a common methodology is shared across all projects. A project, as defined by the Project Management Institute's "Project Management Body of Knowledge", is a temporary endeavor undertaken to create a unique product, service or result. In completing a project it is important to make sure that the right resources have the right tools to be working on the right project. The purpose of the Project Management Office at Georgia State University is to make sure that projects have the resources needed so that they can be completed on time and within budget.
The purpose of this web site is to provide the Project managers, project team members and project stakeholders a reference guide for managing projects. This site will constantly change and be updated in the future. If there is information that you wish to see on this site, or need more information on running a successful project, please contact Randall Alberts, Sr. Project Manager IS&T - Planning and Strategic Initiatives.
