30-NOV-2007 - SCI Student Composers Concert
The Fall semester Student Composers Concert was held on November 30th in the Kopleff Recital Hall. The works featured were as follows (not in program order):
  1. Brent Milam - "Dark Expanse (Dying Pulsars)" for electronic sounds
  2. Brent Milam - "Maquina Quebrada" for cello and marimba
  3. Carol Underwood - "Frozen Metropolis: II. Ghosts in the Machine" for viola and piano
  4. Brian Chamberlain - "Lost Hollow Road" for flute and classical guitar
  5. Brian Chamberlain - "When Atlas Fails" for solo classical guitar
  6. Jason Sherwin - "Sonata for Keyboard, Poco Allegro" for solo piano
01-NOV-2007 - CD contest results announced
The selections for the CD contest have been announced. We would like to thank Dr. Steven Harper and Dr. Mark McFarland of the GSU School of Music, and Dr. Jason Freeman of the Georgia Tech School of Music for adjudicating the contest. The rankings were as follows:

  3. Carol Underwood - "Three Monster Faces"
  4. Jason Sherwin - "Nadine's Piece (String Quartet, movement 3)"
  5. Diego Cubero - "Marcha Boruca, movement 1"
  6. Diego Cubero - "Fifths for Four"
  7. Brian Chamberlain - "Thursday Mourning"

The recordings will be completed by the end of January, and the CD will be released shortly thereafter.
