The Virtual Interactive Peer (V.I.P.) course is a non-credit integrated first-year experience. Through academically-based, online interactions with an upperclassman, new students will be supported and engaged via one-on-one connections.

GSU 1010   NEW STUDENT ORIENTATION

New Student Orientation. Three lecture hours a week. Introduction to the academic life of the university; interdisciplinary study of urban Atlanta and the Georgia State community; introduction to the academic demands, learning resources, and rules and procedures of the institution.

GSU 1050   SURVIVAL SKLLS FOR COLLEGE

Credit Hour(s): 3.0

Survival Skills for College. Two class hours and one lab hour per week. Designed to help students improve their academic skills to survive the college experience. Special attention will be given to the academic, social, family, work, career, and personal issues that affect students' success. This class is appropriate for students with less than a 2.0 cumulative Georgia State GPA. (Formerly AcF 1050.)
