Topics in Middle Grades Science. Three hours lecture and two hours lab a week. Develops basic content knowledge of the natural and/or physical sciences. Develops understanding of school science topics such as light, sound, weather, earth, processes, and organisms. Emphasizes scientific reasoning skills, problem solving, using technology, and communicating scientific knowledge. May be repeated as topics vary. (Repeatable)

(TE) Concepts and Methods in Middle Childhood Science. Corequisites: EDLA 4400, EDMT 4460, and EDSS 4480. Provides the pedagogical content knowledge necessary for effective middle school science instruction. Procedures for planning, implementing, and reflecting on science instruction are learned in a school setting. A minimum grade of "B" is required for this course.
