What is SAS?

SAS is an integrated system of software programs which manipulate, analyze, and summarize data. SAS may be used in non-interactive (also called batch) mode by writing commands to a separate file. (SAS may also be run interactively by using the display manager or an Xwindows interface, but these instructions do not cover such usage.)
