A Dining Suite requires 36 square yards of hardwood, 15 hours of skilled labor, and 6 yards of imported brocade fabric.

A Bedroom Suite uses 27 square yards of hardwood lumber and 30 hours of skilled labor.

Both are quite profitable.

The contribution margin on a Dining set is $1,000 and that on a Bedroom set is $1,200.

This week, they have available for use 432 square yards of hardwood, 330 person-hours of skilled labor, and 60 yards of fine imported brocade.

What should they make this week?

1. Name the two decision variables.

2. What is the formula for total contribution to profit&overhead?

3. Name the three main constraints (other than non-negativity).

4. What numbers make up the Right Hand Sides of the three constraints?

5. What formulas make up the Left Hand Sides of the three constraints?

The first page should contain the answers to the five questions above, using one or more complete sentences for each one. Number the five answers.

The second page should contain a printout of the main page of your spreadsheet in standard (numeric) view, portrait alignment, with gridlines and row/column headings.

The third page should contain a printout of the main page of your spreadsheet in formulas view, landscape alignment, with gridlines and row/column headings. To get the formulas view, hold down the CTRL key and strike ~ (tilde). Be sure to adjust the column widths to accommodate the formulas and labels.

The fourth page should contain a printout of the answer report.

The fifth page should contain a printout of the sensitivity report.

Do not turn in any more than five pages. If one of your printouts spills over onto an extra page, adjust the column widths. 10, 11, or 12 point fonts are acceptable.
