Welcome to my website! My name is Jim Marton and I am an associate professor in the Economics Department at Georgia State University. The Economics Department here at GSU is housed in the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies. I am a health economist and I do research on the financing of public health insurance programs such as Medicaid and SCHIP. This and many other types of health related research are being conducted by the Georgia Health Policy Center, which is housed in the Andrew Young School. I am also a faculty affiliate of the Partnership for Urban Health Research and the W.J. Usery Workplace Research Group. I have conducted research that has been published or is forthcoming in such journals as the Journal of Health Economics, the Journal of Policy Analysis and Management, the Journal of Urban Economics, Health Economics, the National Tax Journal, Economic Theory, Economic Inquiry, the Southern Economic Journal, Inquiry, and Health Services Research.
Previously I was a faculty member in the Martin School of Public Policy and Administration at the University of Kentucky and a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at the Taubman Center for Public Policy at Brown University.
