Course strengths.

1.

good prerequisite to maste-level microeconomics

2.

Dr. Frost worked very hard to give the math concepts an economic application. Also, it is clear that Dr. Frost cares about her students and her teaching methods.

Instructor strengths.

1.

ability to communicate well with students

2.

She was very enthusiastic about the class

3.

It is clear that Dr. Frost cares about her students and her teaching methods. She began the course with a survey that helped me determine my learning style; something that I was not aware of until this semester. Another example of her caring, Dr. Frost gave the class an incentive to go to a seminar about credit card debt. She obvioulsy wanted to bring awareness to her class to this growng problem.

Course weaknesses.

1.

I disliked the text book. Europeans must teach math differently than in the US because the book did not flow from one section to another. At times I would have preferred to have certain sections before/after others. At times I found the explanations confusing. For example, the first example given would be relatively easy but the second would be to difficult. His website provided little help. Because Dr. Frost is a good teacher she realized the text was deficient in a certain sections so she brought in supplemental notes. I think I remember her bringing in notes that she used when she was a student. This was helpful but it got confusing, and I must believe there is a better econ/math text out there.

Course suggestions for improvement.

1.

more economic applications of math-econ concepts

2.

The class moves quickly as it needs to because there is a lot of imformation to cover. This is why I would skip Ch10. Ch 10 is a very interesting chapter, and if there were more time I would keep it. But this chapter relates more to Finance than to Economics. Even though we only used a relativly small amount of time on this chapter I would have preffered to learn more about the last few sections.
