Dr. Frost
communicated material to students very well. What was very helpfull is how
she not just explained the concepts but also showed how to used these
concepts to solve problems. Also, Dr. Frost likes the graphs and we had to
learn all the different details about the graphs and that really helped
because it made me think "outside the box". I also want to mention
that I would recommend Dr. Frost to any student with no reservations
whatsoever. I took Econ 2105 with another professor and it was disaster. This
class was a pleasure. Combining "traditional" teaching methods with
"non-traditional" (we played several games demonstrating conepts
like marginal product, average product, etc) really helped me learn and made
this course fun. Thanks, Dr. Frost!!! You are one of those teachers who will
always be remembered by students. |

Shelby Frost
is a wonderful teacher who made sure that the students understand the subject
being taught. If we did not understand a topic in class, she did not mind
going over it again. If there was something that we still did not understand
she always suggested that we go to her office and she would help us. I really
liked how she gave out handouts so we could practice more. Shelby also made
economics fun. I took Economics Fall Semester 2002, but the teacher did not
explain it thoroughly like Shelby does. If I read something, I understood
what I read. She made coming to class very exciting. I really liked the way
she taught the subject. When there was time for a test she did not mind
havind a Review Test Discussion. I learned a lot in this class. Shelby is an
amazing teacher who cares a lot about her students and cares if we are
understanding the subject. I know she made me understand Microeconomics
better. I really enjoyed this class. Thank You for all your help Shelby
Frost. |

Spent too
much time on basic concepts that were clearly stated on the prereq's as
required knowledge. If a student doesn't understand basic math and college
algebra is required, then that student is responsible for learning the
material, not the class's. Also, sometimes, one person was allowed to comment
and ask questions that did not pertain to the subject matter or was simply
repeating what was already said, wasted class time! This sometimes put you on
a tangent. Strengths greatly outway weaknesses. |

I think it
would be a great idea to have the students do a project that required them to
show how they have incorporated one of the economic principals into their
careeres and have them show how using that specific principal facilitated one
particular task they preformed. Or maybe at the begining of class you could
have each student submit an economic problem he or she is trying to solve.
Then that student could be challenged to seek solutions to that problem in
the text or in the lectures. |
