What Pat Byrd and I think will work well is if contributors can get to us:

(1) The initial 2-3 page background description ASAP (i.e., setting, type of ESL/EFL learners, see enclosed materials/websites, etc. within 4-5 weeks from now).  Preferably by May 31st (1998) as long as you have seen this message in time.  (Otherwise please contact me (John) and we can discussion other possibilities). That will make it feasible for contributors to be working on the full manuscript this summer and be ready to . . .

(2) Submit a first draft of a completed manuscript by the end of summer 1998 (e.g., September 1st); . . .

(3) Then we will be able to get feedback and suggestions for revisions back to you by the beginning of November 1998. This will permit contributors to have the .

(4) December-January holiday to work on revisions and resubmit a 2nd (final) draft back to us by the end of January of 1999.

So we are trying to structure it so that most of the work would be taking place this summer (1998).

Assuming that you will be contributing to the project . . . Q: Will that time line work for you?   Hope so.

John
