What We Do
The so-called Year/2000 software problem is generally reserved for mainframe computers - such as those used by banks, insurance companies and other large institutions.
Many of their computers were bought 20 or 25 years ago. Computer memory and storage were at a premium in those days, so programmers responded by writing the slimmest, tightest, most effifient code they could manage. Therefore, dates were reduced to a scant 6 digits, so that March 6, 1957 became 03-06-57.
This worked great for a long time but when you hit Year/2000, all sorts of problems crop up. Suddenly, computers will have trouble figuring out whether 03-06-00 comes before or after 03-06-57.
Software often must compare two dates, or subtract one from another. calculations that compare dates will be incorrect. For example, January 2000 minus january 1999 would be calculated as -99 years. These types of negative calculation results can impact one stage of your business after another.
Another problem is that these source codes were written with pencil or paper, or punched directly into cards, and may therefore no longer exist.
Dates are critical to aspects of banking, consumer credit, the stock market, insurance, motor vehicle registration, social security, military enlistments, educational institutions, tax collection, procurement and so on.
In order to avert a global crash, hundreds of millions of source code must be recovered, analysed, converted and tested by December 31, 1999.

We can build, host and maintain your corporate Intranet on our secure server for less than what you will pay to set up your own corporate intranet. Your employees can access your intranet from anywhere in the world using their secure passwords.
According to Zona Research, U.S. companies' intranet-related spending in 1997 will total about US$6 billion.
A study conducted by IDC among Fortune 1000 companies found that business investment in intranet solutions had returns on investments (ROI) of over 1000 percent on average, with pay-back periods in the 6- to 12- week range.
For example, while it used to take two to three weeks to get sales materials to field sales reps, the process is now instantaneous if the materials are moved to your intranet.
Intranets provide more control over information, making it possible for your employees to get what they want, when and where they want it. The Intranet shifts the information distribution model from "informational push" to informational pull".
