Rouhani Persian Studies Faculty Exchange Program Funds

            This specially designated fund has been established through a  generous gift from Dr.
Shahroukh Rouhani, President of the NewFields, Inc. ,  Atlanta , GA.
to the College of Arts and Sciences to provide funds to support a Faculty  Exchange Program
with universities in Iran .

Program will begin with an  exploratory planning trip in early 2002 by the
Dean's group from the College   of Arts and Sciences and Ghazi from Geology Department. 
The purpose of this  trip is to establish formal ties with Iranian universities in order to begin a 
faculty exchange program.  It is envisioned that the initial exchange will grow  and develop over
a period of five years into full exchange between both  institutions, which will include faculty as
well as student exchange program.

United Consulting, Inc., Graduate Fellowship

            The purpose of this fund is to establish and name a Graduate Student  Fellowship in the
Department of Geology.  The establishment of this fellowship has been made possible through a
multi-year gift from Mr. Reza Abree, President  of the United Consulting Group, Atlanta, GA.

This fund will provide financial support to supplement the graduate student 
research and assistantship within the Department of Geology.
