Basic Formats of the Debator and Moderator Reports:

1. An Individual Debater Report must be between 4 and 5 single-spaced pages, with one page devoted for figures if necessary. Each student writes her/his own individual report!

The report should include the following:

  • Name(s) of the debater individual(s) in the team
  • Date of debate
  • Title of the debate issue
  • A list of Internet sites and other sources used
  • Position; your team's preferred view
  • The Supporting Arguments; A summary of arguments (data, facts, analyses, etc) that support your view. Points may be itemized and briefly explained. Include any essential data tables, graphs, and maps.

2. A Moderator Summary - must be between 4 and 5 pages and should include the following

  • Name of the moderator
  • Name of the members of the two debater teams
  • Positions of each team
  • Date of debate
  • Title of the debate
  • A list of Internet sites and other sources used
  • Summary of the debaters' arguments extracted from debater summaries submitted to you
  • Itemize each team's arguments separately.
