Associate Professor, Clay Mineralogy

I am active in research on the kinetics of the smectite to illite transformation, trace and platinum group metal geochemistry of Kupferschiefer and the Phosphoria Shale (Idaho) and the petrology of the K-T boundary.  My Appalachian Basin work was funded by PRF.  Kupfershiefer efforts were funded by the Max Kade Foundation.  My efforts on the K-T boundary were supported by NSF. The Phosphoria Shale is funded by the USGS.
