BLOCKADE Film Reception: Images

The following webpages present scanned images from a scrapbook put together by the owner of the theater where Blockade had its world premier in Elkhart, Indiana.

This 75 page scrapbook thorougly documents an example of small town film exhibition and ballyhoo from the 1930's, including lobby cards, newspaper and roadside advertisements, specially printed restaurant napkins and shopping bags, audience response cards, and more.

My colleague Kathy Fuller-Seeley (rural film reception expert and Ebay hunter extraordinaire) acquired the scrapbook from someone who rescued it from a dumpster, and I am grateful to her and to Jae Ryu for these images.
