My Mind is in the Gutter...
and it has been from a tender young age. But please, don't get the wrong impression. The gutter is that narrow border between comic panels. The reader's brain assesses the iconic (picture) and the abstract (word) components of first one panel, then the next, and draws correlations betweenthepanels, interpreting them sequentially (thus, sequential art). So it is that, in some sense, the mind of every comic reader is in the gutter. Welcome. I'm glad for the company.

COMICS are worthy of serious discussion.  We true believers are steadfast supporters of  SEQUENTIAL ART, the preferred monicker of the discipline. Alan Moore, the patron saint of slobbering fanboys, calls comics the perfect medium for a post-literate society.  The difficulty lies in having our post-literate society accept the medium.  I hope this space can, in some small way, bring a wider audience to this crucial art form.

I use this great site as my start-up page! Industry news updated every Monday and Thursday, Real Audio Interviews, 2000+ links, and much more. Though they are frustratingly slow to post contest results, they respond quickly to e-mail.
