Companies Online
Companies Online is a joint project of Dun & Bradstreet and Lycos,
Inc. that provides access to basic information on over 60,000 private and
public companies. Users who register (free) can access some information
that non-registered users cannot. Dun & Bradstreet reports can be ordered
on most companies for a fee.
Europages
Europages offers a database of 150,000 companies carefully selected
from 25 European countries. Do a keyword search or a search by activity
sector, or alternatively search for the name of the company in which you
are interested.
GTE Superpages
These nationwide Interactive Yellow Pages provide access to business
information derived from over 11 million listings found in 5,000 Yellow
Pages directories. Additionally, this web page includes a Business Web
Site Directory that features links to over 60,000 Web sites owned and operated
by businesses all over the world.
InfoSpace
This comprehensive directory includes not only listings for businesses
worldwide, but also provides searchable fax, toll-free number, blue pages
and Internet email directories. Bills itself as "the most comprehensive
directory on the Internet."
Switchboard
Switchboard provides searchable databases for both personal and business
information across the United States. Individuals who register (no charge)
are able to update their personal listing.
Thomas Register
If you need to find the name of a US manufacturing firm or want to
know who makes a specific product then this site is for you. The Thomas
Register is a comprehensive detailed guide to the full range of products
manufactured in the United States. Users familiar with the print version
of this venerable resource will be pleased to find both product/service
and company name searching available. Registration (free) is required to
use this service.
