(2nd edition or newer) by P. B. Bhattacharya, S. K. Jain and S. R. Nagpaul,
Cambridge University Press.
The lectures will be (mainly) based on this textbook.

Written Homework
Each homework set should be turned in on the due day at the beginning of the class.
Your performance in the homework will affect your letter grades by the end of the semester.
Remember: Show your stepbystep work, and no late homework is accepted.
Exams
There are two inclass midterm exams and a final exam, all held at Room 527 Langdale Hall.

First Exam: 09/27/2017 (Wednesday), inclass, 3:00–4:15pm, closed book/notes.

Second Exam: 11/01/2017 (Wednesday), inclass, 3:00–4:15pm, closed book/notes.

Final Exam: 12/11/2017 (Monday), 1:30–4:00pm, closed book/notes.
The final exam will be cumulative with a slight emphasis on
the materials not covered in the two midterm exams.
