Running the Game

Your Player's Manual has very detailed information about running the game. In this handout some additional information about using the Wells Center Lab here at GSU will be presented. If you are not using the Wells Center Lab you will have to install the game on your home or office computer. The game will run on either Windows 3.1 or Windows 95. If you are using the Wells Center this is how you will find the BSG.

  1. Do not attempt to install the BSG on the computer. It is already there. All you have to do is pull it up.

  2. Using the Mouse click on the Start button in the lower left had corner of the screen. A pop-up menu will rise out of the bottom of the screen above the Start button.

  3. Without clicking or depressing the mouse key, move the mouse so that the Programs choice is highlighted on the pop-up menu. At this time a new menu will appear to the right.

  4. Without clicking or depressing the mouse key, move the mouse so that the Colleges and Departments choice is highlighted on the pop-up menu. At this time a new menu will appear to the right.

  5. Again, without clicking or depressing the mouse key, move the mouse to highlight Business from the new pop-up menu. Another menu will now appear to the right.

  6. Still without clicking or depressing the mouse key, move the mouse to highlight Management on the new pop-up menu. A final menu will appear.

  7. Highlight the BSG-Company Operations V5 with your mouse, the Company Operations. NOW click the left mouse key and the BSG will open up for you.

  8. Insert your Company Data Disk in the "a" drive and follow the log-in instructions on the screen. The Players Manual takes you through the initial log-in on pages 83-86. DO NOT log in until you have your industry number, team letter, team name, and team password.

  9. When finished make sure you allow Windows 95 and the BSG to COMPLETELY exit, including copying all files to your Company Data Disk. ALWAYS USE THE PULL-DOWN MENUS, NOT THE ‘X’ ICON, TO EXIT EACH LEVEL. Failure to do this will result in all of your entries being lost. The network can not save your entries.

!!! DO NOT attempt to Install the Game on a computer in the Wells Center !!!
