Rubrics for Unit Work Samples & Learning Environment
Portfolio

The unit work samples and Learning Environment Portfolio are assessed
using a four-tiered rubric system. The categories and their definitions
are as follow:
-
Needs Improvement. When an item is assessed as "needing improvement,"
this means that the minimum requirements were not met.
-
Meets Criteria. When an item is assessed as "meets criteria," this
means that the minimum requirements were met.
-
Exceeds Criteria. When an item is assessed as "exceeds criteria,"
this means that you went beyond the minimum specifications for the item.
Portfolio.
-
Excellent. When an item is assessed as "excellent," this means that
outstanding work is demonstrated.
Note: Summative evaluation for the Work Samples is based on an overall
assessment of your performance across the criteria outlined for each Work
Sample. For example, if your E-mail Work Sample received 3/4 marks in the
"Meets Criteria" category, you would get 4 points for the Work Sample.
Individual rubrics have been created for each unit, as well as the Learning
Environment Portfolio, and are listed below.
