Although rare, one in every 10,000 penguins, white penguins are not albinos. This Gentoo penguin rookery had one sole white penguin...who seemed to want to greet us.
Port Lockroy in the Neumayer Channel, Antarctic Peninsula.This is the location of a British station established in 1944 and occupied until 1962. It is now conserved as a historic monument.
