Liberal political inclinations. Interpellated as minister of information in March 1998. The interpellation was led by Islamists - the issue had to do with the sale of censored books at Kuwait's book fair. A majority of deputies indicated they would vote to remove confidence, and the government resigned. He returned as minister of oil in the new cabinet.
