GSEQ 5 GSEQ Version 5.1
. This version runs in Windows 95 or later. It includes new algorithms for computing interobserver agreement, both for event and timed-event sequential data, which are described in:

Bakeman, R., Quera, V., & Gnisci, A. (2009). Observer agreement for timed-event sequential data: A comparison of time-based and event-based algorithms. Behavior Research Methods, 41 (1), 137-147.

Quera, V., Bakeman, R., & Gnisci, A. (2007). Observer agreement for event sequences: Methods and software for sequence alignment and reliability estimates. Behavior Research Methods, 39 (1), 39-49.
  • Download GSEQ 5.1 from Georgia State University, USA.
  • Download GSEQ 5.1 from Universitat de Barcelona, Spain.
  • To run GSEQ, click Start > Programs > GSEQ 5.1 > GSEQ 5.1, or click on the GSEQ desktop icon.
Older GSEQ versions:  Previous Windows and DOS versions are no longer available and supported.

More software:

ActSds ActSds (Mangold's INTERACT to SDIS converter): ActSds converts Mangold's INTERACT data files, various versions, into SDIS files that can be subsequently analyzed by GSEQ. Runs in Windows 95 or later. For information about INTERACT, visit Mangold International site. ActSds is described in:

Bakeman, R., & Quera. V. (2008). ActSds and OdfSds: Programs for converting INTERACT and The Observer data files into SDIS timed-event sequential data files. Behavior Research Methods, 40 (3), 869-872.
  • Download ActSds (Version 3.0, April 2011) from Georgia State University, USA.
  • Download ActSds (Version 3.0, April 2011) from Universitat de Barcelona, Spain.
  • After downloading, copy file ActSds.ZIP to a temporary directory. The ZIP file contains the executable, ActSds.EXE, and a PDF file describing the program. Extract both files to a directory of your choice using WinZip or similar.
OdfSds OdfSds and ObsTxtSds (Noldus' The Observer to SDIS converter): OdfSds converts Version 5 and earlier, and ObsTxtSds Version 6 and later, Noldus' The Observer data files  into SDIS files that can be subsequently analyzed by GSEQ. Runs in Windows 95 or later. For information about The Observer, visit Noldus Information Technology site. OdfSds is described in:

Bakeman, R., & Quera. V. (2008). ActSds and OdfSds: Programs for converting INTERACT and The Observer data files into SDIS timed-event sequential data files. Behavior Research Methods, 40 (3), 869-872.
  • Download ObsTxtSds (Version 3.0, April 2011) from Georgia State University, USA.
  • Download OdfSds from Georgia State University, USA.
  • Download ObsTxtSds (Version 3.0, April 2011) from Universitat de Barcelona, Spain.
  • Download OdfSds from Universitat de Barcelona, Spain.
  • After downloading, copy file OdfSds.ZIP to a temporary directory. The ZIP file contains the executables, OdfSds.EXE and ObsTxtSds.EXE, and a PDF file describing the programs. Extract the files to a directory of your choice using WinZip or similar.
ELign ELign: A standalone program for aligning event sequential data by means of dynamic programming algorithms, and computing an alignment kappa. Note that the ELign algorithm is included in GSEQ 5 as well; using GSEQ 5 for aligning event sequences and computing Kappa is easier than using ELign. Runs in Windows 95 or later. Described in:

Quera, V., Bakeman, R., & Gnisci, A. (2007). Observer agreement for event sequences: Methods and software for sequence alignment and reliability estimates. Behavior Research Methods, 39 (1), 39-49.
  • Download ELign from Georgia State University, USA.
  • Download ELign from Universitat de Barcelona, Spain.
  • After downloading, copy file ELIGN.ZIP to a temporary directory. The ZIP file contains the executable, ELIGN.EXE, plus several sample SDIS data files. Extract the files to a directory of your choice using Winzip or similar.
