Victory Day Celebration: Victory Day was celebrated
recently. A
cultural function was arranged in memories of those who sacrificed their
lives to bring our independence. The program was highlited with a drama,
patriotic songs and a quiz show. The program was attended well over two
hundred people from Atlanta and as well as the neighbouring states.
AsiaFest: BSA participated in AsiaFest held in the
week of 17-24 Feb.
BSA provided a delicious dish of curry chicken at the food tasting. Also
at the same week BSA held Eid Party at Panther Lounge. Turkish Student
Association cosponsored with BSA on the party. A short speech on the
significance of Eid Festival was delivered by Gursel from Turkiey. Eid
Party was attended by many American students as well as international
students.
Coffee Break: BSA hosted the last Coffee Break of
this quarter on Feb
28 at 10 am. A nicely decorated display table was setup. The table had
some traditional handicraft items and lots of information on Bangladesh.
The Coffee Break was well attended and everybody had a chance to mingle
with each other and Bangladeshi students and exchange views and ideas.
Biryani, chicken korma and beef curry was served along with coffee.
International Symposium: BSA will send four of its
most active
members to an upcoming symposium at University of Michigan. The symposium
is on the development of the third world countries. It is three day
seminar. BSA members are planning to leave on March 13 and return by 19.
A panel discussion will be held upon the return of the members to share
the experience with the other members and the students of Georgia State
