Admisson: Class of 2011
Promotion process: Different approaches have been used for promotion of the
program, including: Advertising in newspapers (twice in each of Al-Ahram and
El-Alam El-Yum newspapers, and once in Al-Maidan newspaper); direct contact
with corporations, banks, and other organizations in the Cairo and
Alexandria areas, conducting two open houses in Alexandria and in Cairo, in
addition to printing promotional material.
Application of prospective students: The number of prospective students
applied for the program is 29 in Alexandria and 22 in Cairo. The number of
applicants who were admitted to the program is 22 in Alexandria (8 female
and 14 male students) and 13 in Cairo (3 female and 10 male students) based
upon the admission criteria. A committee was formed to examine the
applications to make sure the admission requirements are met before inviting
applicants for interview.
Interview process: A committee of three faculty members conducted the
interviews in both Alexandria and Cairo. The interview committee consists of
the program director, the vice-dean for graduate studies and research, and
the chairman of the department of business administration. Two interview
sessions were conducted in Alexandria and one in Cairo. Each applicant was interviewed
for about fifteen minutes. The committee assessed applicants positions, personality as well as
their communication skills in English.
Selection criteria:
- A student has to have an undergraduate degree from an accredited
institution with a general merit of at least "Good" to comply with the
requirements of the Supreme Council of Universities in Egypt.
- A minimum of five years of managerial experience.
- Meeting the university requirements of the English language proficiency
(TOEFL).
- three letters of recommendation.
- Passing an interview.
