Christina West

Christina West has been teaching GSU students how to unleash the latent potential in lumpen matter since 2009. Her personal creative work incorporates the realistically rendered human figure, sculpted at a 3/4 life-size scale. Her figures are often grouped together in an installation format that sets up narrative expectations.

Christina received a BFA from Siena Heights University in Adrian, MI and a MFA from The New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University in Alfred, NY. She has been an artist-in-residence at the Archie Bray Foundation, The Bemis Center for Contemporary Art, and The Clay Studio in Philadelphia. Her work has been supported additionally by a grants and fellowships from the New York Foundation for the Arts, the George Sugarman Foundation, the Mary L. Nohl Artist Fund and the Southeastern College Art Conference. Christina shows her work extensively across the country and is represented by Mindy Solomon Gallery.
