The program provides opportunity for advanced exploration of theory, methodology and practice of graphic design, including personal development and specialized research. It seeks to expand the profession, both in terms of utilizing new technology and working beyond existing commercial definitions. The M.F.A. program prepares students for specialized practice and continued research.
The Graphic Design program prepares students to contribute to the design profession as media creators and creative problem solvers. Students receive training in aesthetic theory, technical skills, and professional practices, but are also stimulated to develop their own language of self-expression.
