Nancy Floyd, Professor of Photography, is awarded
Future Focus Project Support Grant from the Society for Photographic
Education. This grant will help cover expenses for the first installation
of Weathering Time at The Pearl Conard Art Gallery at Ohio State
University in 2015, allowing Floyd to realize this project in its final form.
The Weathering Time series was also just featured on Lenscratch daily blog.
Associate Professor Kimberly Cleveland will be a panelist for the Winston and Carolyn Lowe Lecture Series on African American and African Diaspora Art in conjunction with the Harlem Fine Arts Show in Atlanta, GA on Saturday, June 28th, 200 Peachtree Street NW.
Assistant Professor Michael Wsol has been named the 2014 Welch Faculty Research funding recipient for his proposed project, Current Collection. The grant will help realize his environmentally conscious project and will involve both undergraduate and graduate students from the School. The project culminates in a body of work for exhibitions in Florida and here in Atlanta.
Assistant Professor Craig Drennen's paintings will be included at Volta 10 Basel in Basel, Switzerland at the Samson booth. The show will feature works from his ongoing Timon of Athens series from June 16-21, 2014.
Gallery Director Cynthia Farnell's large-scale prints on fabric will be featured in a solo exhibition, Metamorphoses at the XChange Gallery from June 1-30, 2014. The project is supported in part by the Atlanta Office of Cultural Affairs.
