Funding for Study Abroad

Federal financial aid and the HOPE Scholarship are applicable towards the cost of study abroad for Georgia State University students. In addition to these funding sources, there are numerous scholarships and grants available to facilitate your study abroad goals. Following is a list of several, but by no means all, of the scholarships and grants available to Georgia State students for study abroad.

International Education Fee (IEF) Study Abroad Scholarship
The IEF scholarship is funded by the mandatory international education student fee and is available to all Georgia State studenets enrolled in degree or certificate programs who will be earning academic credit while abroad. Available for Maymester, Summer, Fall, Spring and Academic Year programs.For more information click here.

U.S. Student Fulbright Scholarships
A funding source for U.S. citizens seeking graduate level education or research opportunities outside the U.S. For more information click here.

NSEP Boren Undergraduate Study Abroad Scholarships
A federally funded scholarship to encourage career-related skills development in preparation for activities that would lead to opportunities in federal service. For more infromation click here.

Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship
A scholarship designed for undergraduate recipients of the Pell Grant. Program restrictions apply to the Summer semester. For more infromation click here.

Rotary Scholarships
For undergraduates who have completed their first two years of course work. For more information click here.
