Dr. Kenneth C. Levine  

 

Ken Levine teaches Quality Management, Operations Management, and Business Analysis in the Department of Managerial Sciences at Georgia State University.  Ken holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, a Master’s degree in Actuarial Science, and a Doctor of Business Administration with a major in Human Resources.  His doctoral dissertation addressed the motivation of contract workers to participate on client work teams. 

 

Ken retired from The Coca-Cola Company with 24 years of service in 2000, where he held managerial and staff positions in IT, marketing research, marketing, sales, sales management, and continuous improvement.  Ken was also a Subject Matter Expert for the company’s SAP implementation, where he was responsible for insuring that future management reporting needs were met.  In addition, Ken previously held the positions of Marketing Manager at ADP, Budget Manager for First Atlanta Bank, Manager of Management Science and Economic Research at the C&S National Bank, and Research Associate and Consulting Staff Member for Information Systems of America.

 

Ken is an active Six Sigma management consultant, with clients such as GE Capital, SunTrust Bank, R. James Properties, Briot/Weco (optical equipment manufacturer), and The Coca-Cola Company.  He is a Six Sigma Master Black Belt, a Certified Purchasing Manager, and a certified facilitator for Stephen Covey’s “Seven Habits of Highly Effective People.”

 

Ken has published articles on corporate modeling, computerized medical diagnosis and just-in-time training.  In the past year, Ken has published “Root Cause Analysis Takes Too Long” and “Recycling Your Meeting Waste” in Quality Digest’s Six Sigma Online.  His “Maximizing Lean Communications Using Win-Win Agreements” has been accepted for publication in ASQ’s Lean Enterprise Forum.
