The PAWS portal?
|
https://paws.gsu.edu/cp/home/loginf
is the PAWS portal. It is a web application where employees can easily
access GoSOLAR, INB, and other GoSOLAR system related links.

The method for logging onto
Banner?
|
There are three methods for logging
onto Banner:
- Internet Native Banner (INB) http://inb.gosolar.gsu.edu
- Log into PAWS at
using your Campus ID and password.
On the Homepage tab, you will see a list of Applications in the
left column. Click on the ‘Banner
INB’ link.
-Go to www.gosolar.gsu.edu,
click on the Internet Native Banner link.

What is Banner?
|
Banner is part of the GoSOLAR
system. It is the Student System database that staff logon to access
student records. Students access the database via Web for Student and
faculty access the database via Web for Faculty.

the Internet
Native Banner (INB)?
|
INB is a Java
Applet Banner client that runs in a web browser. Users can logon directly
to Banner using Internet Explorer or Firefox.
You must
download and install the JInitiator (for Windows) or the Macintosh
Runtime for Java (for Mac) before you can use INB.
Please
refer to the How Do I section below for INB instructions.

JInitiator/Macintosh Runtime for Java (MRJ)?
|
Jinitiator (for
Windows)/MRJ (for Mac) is the Java Virtual Machine required to run the INB
client. It is a plug-in for your web browser that you must download and
install before you can use INB.

Web for Student?
|
It is a web
product students can use to view their academic record, financial
aid, student account, and register for classes. For instructions on web
registration, go to student.gosolar.gsu.edu
and click on the registration guide link.

Web for Faculty?
|
It is a web product faculty can use to view their
class roster and assign grades. See Web for Faculty
Quick Guide for instructions on how to use GoSolar Web for Faculty.

BPROD?
|
BPROD is the Georgia State
University Production database where production student data is housed. Employees
use this system application to input, update or view student-related
data.

B7LAB?
|
B7LAB is the Georgia State University
Training database where employees can log on for training to practice
their new skills.

What is my Banner userid?
|
Your Banner userid is the same
as your campus id. Email bantrain@gsu.edu
if you have questions about your Banner userid.

What are the password
guidelines?
|
The University Auditors
have advised that ALL system applications adopt a password policy which
forces users to change passwords on a regular basis. In keeping with this
recommendation - and in light of the many security issues in the current
computing environment - GSU will be implementing this policy with the
Banner system.
Please refer to the
password complexity rules located on the change your Campus ID password
page.

Not able to see all the button
icons via Internet Native Banner (INB)
|
Users must adjust their desktop
settings to have INB display correctly. Download instructions to set up Optimal Desktop settings for INB.
|
|
Mac operating system OS
X.2 is a GREAT improvement functioning with Internet Native Banner.
All Mac users on campus
should be highly encouraged to do this upgrade.
|
MAC users
no longer have to use Apple Applet Runner and Classic (OS 9.x). In OS
X.2 the Applet
runs automatically in the background.
