Master Teacher Program
Workshop conducted for Cairo University Faulty of Commerce

The workshop held May 17-21, 2008 at Cairo University Faculty of Commerce was the second in a series of workshops devised to provide university professors, assistants, associate professors and teaching assistants with a framework for effective teaching at the University level, and to discuss specific strategies to maximize student learning. Preparation before entering the classroom, course organization, multiple teaching strategies (including lecture, cases, video, co-operative learning, games) as well as testing and evaluation strategies were addressed. Handling difficult classroom situations were also discussed. Participants were encouraged to develop and articulate their teaching philosophy. The program was designed to take place entirely in English. Participants practiced skills and gained an understanding of the following learning objectives:
- How to prepare before entering the classroom
- How to organize the course
- Different teaching strategies and how to use them (lectures, cases, videos, cooperative learning and games)
- Testing and evaluation strategies
- Handling difficult classroom situations
