Overview

The Andrew Young School of Policy Studies’ (AYSPS) mission is focused on economic and social development policy issues and problems, and on the design, implementation, management and evaluation of policies that address issues of economic and social development on the local, national and global levels. The school bridges leadership and scholarship through research, teaching and outreach. Consistently named among the top policy schools in the nation, the AYSPS has been ranked 5th in public finance and budgeting, 12th in city management and urban policy, 16th in public administration, 21st in public policy, and 26th overall among schools of public affairs by U.S. News & World Report. Students, faculty and staff in the school’s two departments and five research centers form a unique partnership that offers the best in policy research, training and academics. Faculty in the two departments — Economics and Public Administration and Urban Studies — excel in teaching policy evaluation and administration, public finance and budgeting, nonprofit studies, city management, environmental economics, urban and regional economics and planning, and public management and policy.
