Overview

The Alliance for Sexual and Gender Diversity serves the Georgia State community as a safe and open forum for discussion on sexuality and gender. The Alliance is open to all sexual and gender identities and includes a wide range of races, classes and ages. Members participate in activism, educational programs, volunteer services and social events. Founded in 1982, the Alliance is now celebrating 25 years as the state of Georgia’s first and oldest gay-straight student alliance. The Alliance is currently the largest diversity organization on campus, with more than 650 members. In 2002, the Alliance received the Student Organization of the Year award from Student Activities, and in 2005 it received the Phoenix Award from the City of Atlanta.
