The Office of the Dean of Students provides quality, comprehensive programs and services for a diverse student population that promote achievement, empowerment, engagement/involvement, and effective citizenship.

Student Assistance
The Office of the Dean of Students is dedicated to promoting student success at Georgia State. Students are encouraged to visit the office with questions regarding any University process, procedure or policy so that a staff member may provide direct assistance or connection to another office or staff member who has the most up-to-date information or service that will best meet the specific need.

Student Judicial Affairs
Students may visit the office if they are interested in involvement opportunites through the Student Judicial Board and other campus committees. Students who participate in the Student Judicial Board play a significant role in the judicial process. The Student Judicial Board, with 16 members serving as justices, reviews and makes recommendations on all referred violations of the Student Code of Conduct. Members of the Board also make formal judgments of student parking appeals.

The student judicial process protects the rights and safety of all students
and addresses their educational and developmental needs. The Georgia State University Student Code of Conduct and Policies describes the types of actions that infringe upon the campus’ climate of civility and the academic integrity of the University. A copy of the Student Code of Conduct
and Policies may be obtained on the web at www.gsu.edu/deanofstudents.

Engagement and Involvement
The Office of the Dean of Students supports student engagement and involvement through the administration of the Student Activity Fee which funds the majority of student programming on campus. A Student Activity Fee Committee, comprised primarily of students, conducts an annual
allocation process in the Spring semester of each academic year. Student organizations interested in learning more about this year’s allocation process are encouraged to contact or visit the Office of the Dean of Students in October for more information.
