Overview

The Honors Program provides a special educational experience for students who are willing to accept the challenge to excel. In this program, students gain the advantage of small classes and close contact with outstanding faculty members. Honors students can take special versions of core courses and pursue honors work at the upper level, often within their majors. They can enroll in special interdisciplinary courses; help to design new courses on topics of their choice; and, at the upper division, research and write honors theses. These efforts can result in the student earning honors designations, noted on diplomas and transcripts, at graduation. Honors courses are open to all students in the University who meet honors eligibility requirements, regardless of their college.
