Overview

The Office of the Ombudsperson (om'-budz-pur'-sen) provides an impartial, confidential place for students to discuss conflicts, problem situations, grievances and appeals of disciplinary and/or academic actions. The office acts as a neutral campus resource that assists students with informal complaint resolution, problem solving, clarifying university policies and procedures, recommending effective communication methods, and referrals to available university resources.

Situations with which the Ombudsperson may assist include allegations of unfair treatment, interpersonal conflicts, faculty/student misunderstandings, grade appeals, discrimination, questions regarding university policy and procedure, disciplinary matters, supervisor/employee relations, and concerns about financial aid and/or student registration.
